20% off Caroola Farm Organic, Grass Fed, Yearling Beef, this weekend 14 & 15 May

What a week! Rain, wind, and lots of action.

We are offering 20% off our organic, grass-fed yearling beef this weekend, as the beasts were rather large and we need more room in the freezer. If you already love our beef, now is the time to stock up. If you haven’t tried our beef, now is the time for some tasting!

We have preservative and gluten free sausages, premium mince, t-bones, sirloin (porterhouse), roasts, topside, stewing cuts and more. We will also have limited Harvest Boxes available for collection on Saturday (Bungendore) or Sunday (on-farm) only. We do require orders by 2pm Friday for harvesting purposes. Just $40 each and valued at over $50.

Our harvest this week will include:

  • Duck Eggs
  • Carrots
  • Turnips
  • Cucumbers
  • Salad Mix
  • Rocket
  • Radishes
  • Pumpkin
  • Stir-fry mix
  • Spaghetti Squash

If you would like to order anything in advance, simply reply to this email – but don’t leave it too late as we’ll be busy harvesting and then heading to markets.

Whew, what a week! It was fantastic to see the rain, we got around 35mm which has saved us a heap of watering.

Our Fair Food Producers evening had to move inside, so Sunday was a hectic day with our Meat and Cheese Preserving Workshop finishing and the producers gathering starting. Many thanks to Tammi Jonas from Australian Food Sovereignity Alliance (AFSA), Larry O’Loughlin from the Conservation Council ACT Region and Samantha Hawker from Southern Harvest Farmers Market for facilitating.

Monday night we were involved in the screening of Polyfaces and a panel discussion followed by dinner at A.Baker. This was the launch of the AFSA Legal Defence Fund – they have just started their crowdfunding campaign ” Despite growing concerns about the nutrition, safety, and ethics of the food we eat, some regulators are making it harder for Australian small-scale farmers to produce ethical, ecologically-sound, nutritious, and delicious food for their communities.” read more and contribute…

We have spent some valuable time inside this week in the wild and windy weather, and have finally lit the fire 🙂 Mind you all this rain has made the weeding easier so that is a bonus too1

Welcome, finally, to the cool weather!
