The property was formerly a pony stud and when purchased, although having a conventional fertiliser history, was degraded and required a lot of work to repair soil compaction issues.
Roughly divided into 10 fields with water in each, the property also has water access to the Mulloon Creek.
Our vision is to improve water penetration, soil composition and pastures through the use of a variety of methods including permaculture and holistic management. This vision includes cattle, sheep, chickens, ducks as well as tree shelterbelts and forage systems.
Closer to the home our vision is to extend the orchard through food forest areas and extend the growing season by using polytunnels and creating microclimates.
Our current harvest is only for personal consumption, but we aim to extend this to make local produce available to the public over the coming years.
